I print out about once per draft, towards the end of the revisions, because I too catch more typos and find more things that need tweaking when I read from the page. I also read the whole thing out loud when I think it's nearly finished, which helps me to see mistakes I would otherwise miss because I know what they're supposed to say!Zinnia Cyclamenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04841314997513292477noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7108902282183852277.post-83355704733670866882008-02-06T11:58:00.000-06:002008-02-06T11:58:00.000-06:00I hate to waste paper, too, but I print each chapt...I hate to waste paper, too, but I print each chapter out after each draft as a matter of back-up (I've lost enough digital files to know how easy it is for a lot of hard work to just vanish). I also print both sides, and then toss the old drafts in the recycle bin.

For some reason it is easier to see certain things in print. I usually don't read the printed version, though, until a long time has passed since I wrote that part or edited it last. I also give the printed version to my wife or anyone else who may be critiquing it so they can write their comments on it.

Plus, it is a nice feeling to physically hold all your hard work in your hands!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04698953192619251503noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7108902282183852277.post-52895377966093639322008-02-06T10:17:00.000-06:002008-02-06T10:17:00.000-06:00Hugs on the R but it sounds like you're definitely...Hugs on the R but it sounds like you're definitely on the right track here!

I do print off the ms to do final draft edits. I do feel bad about all that paper & ink so I print on both sides of the paper. It seems to require a different part of the brain to do a hard edit and I always catch more stuff this way.Wendy Robertshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02619336710125018971noreply@blogger.com
