Nothing in Particular

Today was one of my quarterly trips to Walmart, and after driving there and back, plus some heavy duty shopping, I'm too tuckered out to be scintillating tonight.

As tiring as this trip was physically, at least I came home with an awesome pair of cute shoes. They are completely unnecessary, their heels are too high, they're done in a leopard print... I don't know when I'll ever get to wear them, but they looked too damn good to pass up. As my daughter told me, "Sometimes you just have to be frivolous, Mom."

I got my 100 words out, too. They're right, ya know. No matter how tired you are, or what else has gone on during a day, you can take the time to write at least a hundred words.

Have you taken the time to write today? And if not, why? Come on, fess up. ;o)

(P.S. Those shoes really do look awesome on me. Since I don't have a digital camera, you'll just have to trust me on it.)

Your new shoes sound great! They remind me of my much-loved but utterly frivolous leopard-print coat, which I only dared to wear when I lived in Los Angeles. Now that I live in rural Pennsylvania, I'm afraid I'd get picked up for streetwalking. In LA it was completely normal; here it's absurd.

You could always were the shoes when writing :-)

Heather: Sound like me. I live in the middle of nowhere CO, and if it ain't jeans/work boots, it's too high-falootin'.

Now there's an idea, Liz. They'd be perfect to inspire me for this one heroine I'm creating. ;o)

I'm with Liz. Wear 'em baby! Now I'm a shoe-a-holic myself--I can be cheered by a simple trip through my closet. :) Yay for new shoes. And I must say, I love your daughter's mentality.

I actually did take the time to write at least a hundred words yesterday. Heck, I wrote two or three hundred! And I really didn't think I would get anything out since I'm in the midst of writer's block.
